UNICO Group Announces New Shareholders

UNICO Group’s (unicogroup.com) Board of Directors are pleased to announce its newest shareholders Tracy Alexander, Craig Marmie, Mary Savage, Heather Schmidt, Vera Schneider, and Larry Zarybnicky.

Tracy Alexander, director of UNITEL operations – Tracy joined UNICO in 2008 bringing with her five years of insurance experience. Tracy leads UNITEL’s operations staff, who serve telecommunication companies across the country.

Craig Marmie, director of personal insurance – Craig joined UNICO in 2018 with over 20 years of insurance experience. He leads the Personal Insurance Division with four locations across Nebraska and serves clients across the country. Craig also serves as a current board member and past chairperson of Villa Marie Home and School for Exceptional Children and is a member of NAIFA.

Mary Savage, director of marketing – Mary joined UNICO in 2015 bringing with her marketing experience from the public health and banking industries. Mary leads the marketing division which is responsible for protecting and managing all of UNICO’s brands by creating sales collateral, managing online presence and social media, placement and designing advertising, and event management.

Heather Schmidt, director of benefits operations – Heather joined UNICO in 2015 and has over 18 years of insurance experience. In her current role, she oversees all operations for the Employee Benefits team. She also serves as the secretary and vice president on the Lincoln Association of Health Underwriter’s board.

Vera Schneider, benefits advisor – Vera has been a member of the benefits team since 2017, first becoming a shareholder in 2020. Vera has over 20 years of benefits experience working with employers in managing and designing their benefit programs. Vera’s focus is to strategize with employers to customize their benefit plans to meet corporate philosophies and goals.

Larry Zarybnicky, director of commercial operations – Larry joined UNICO in 2018 after working for several insurance companies over the last 22 years. He leads UNICO’s commercial operations staff of approximately 30 employees with a focus on evaluating resources, policies, and procedures to promote profitability.
