Camp A Way (campaway.com) is proud to be a leader in outdoor hospitality in Nebraska. Since 1967, we’ve welcomed families and travelers seeking more than just a place to camp, we offer a place to connect, relax, and create lifelong memories.
Located in Lincoln, Camp A Way is a unique collaboration between Lincoln Parks and Recreation and private entrepreneurship. We’ve grown from just 35 campsites to over 100 welcoming spots for RVs, tents, and glampers alike, making room for every kind of adventurer.
Our campground is filled with fun amenities and one-of-a-kind events you won’t find anywhere else in the state. Guests of all ages love our Gem Mining, Water Wars balloon launchers, foam parties, barrel train rides, inflatable water slides, jump pads, and more! We host themed weekends throughout the year, leading up to our popular fall festivals—a seasonal favorite for families.
We’re honored to have hosted guests from all 50 states, with more out-of-state visitors arriving from California than any other state. Conveniently located halfway between Denver and Chicago, Camp A Way is both a destination and a perfect stopover, offering a family-friendly atmosphere with the convenience of nearby city attractions.
The campground is proudly operated by the Queen family, who celebrated 30 years of ownership this year. Their vision and commitment have shaped Camp A Way into a place where guests feel truly at home. Our friendly staff brings over 80 years of combined experience to ensure every camper feels welcome and cared for.
Over the years, Camp A Way has grown—but our heart has stayed the same. We’ve watched campers become lifelong friends, kids become parents bringing their own children, and traditions take root under starlit skies. Campfires have sparked first s’mores, shared stories, and generations of laughter.
