Enhance Your Team Culture: September Staff Outing

As a business owner, a unified team of employees can be crucial to your success. In most businesses, staff work closely together and wear many hats. Because teamwork is so significant to a business’s success, team-building activities are essential. In this way, company team building can improve staff retention. Having fun also stimulates creative thinking, which can lead to improved productivity, better communication and better relationships. Company outings are without a doubt a great way to rejuvenate your staff and build team camaraderie amongst employees. Creating a fun environment outside of the office where staff members can work on communication without the day-to-day business in the way is great way to build overall team morale.

For our first month we decided to put together one of our own staff outings in the Historic Haymarket and share our experience with our readers. We encourage you to follow us along the journey!

Happy Hour Break – Culinary Underground

We started our journey at Culinary Underground for delicious craft food and drinks! Located in the heart of the Haymarket, there was no better way to begin our adventure than to fill our bellies with their vast variety of new entrees and appetizers along with their quality selection of drinks. Culinary Underground partnered with PUSH Consulting Group to create new specialty crafted cocktails that are flavorsome. It was tough to choose which of the many great selections available on the menu to start with. We ordered the Chipotle Chicken Rolls, Bruschetta, and the Chicken Salad Sampler Platter for our appetizers- which we would highly recommend! We enjoyed each other’s company and were able to unwind in the relaxed yet vibrant environment that is Culinary Underground. With a great location in the Haymarket scene, the venue is also offering private event space. We will be returning before long to check out their exclusive Sunday Brunch from 10- 2:00 pm featuring their new self serve Bloody Mary Bar, the ever popular mimosas and their specialty brunch menu!

Team Building – Group Therapy Bike Tours

We continued our staff outing with Group Therapy Bike Tours. Group Therapy offers just that- therapy for all on a 15-passenger pedal-powered trolley that encourages groups to “ride their way to happy!” Taking an exciting two-hour tour through the Haymarket we had the ultimate experience by removing ourselves from the busy office and into the therapeutic outdoors with some fresh air and laughs with one another! Half of the excitement is the reaction you receive from onlookers as they watch you pass by! Now with a fleet of two bikes available to choose from- a 15-passenger trolley bike and a new 6-passenger conference bike- it gives groups both small and large the chance to get together for some Group Therapy! You can opt for a tour that has already been designed, or you can customize your own, and we highly recommend it as a wonderful team-building activity.

A very special thank you to Jase Robak of Midwest UAV Imaging for capturing our day with a drone. The Nebraska Drone Shop, a new innovative division of Midwest UAV Imaging, followed our team throughout the afternoon all while live streaming the aerial footage online. Drones are quickly becoming popular for weddings, events, and family photo sessions simply because of the unique perspective they can add to such photo or video sessions. It was such a unique and extraordinary way to document our team building activities!
