Meet Anne Wallman, Operations Manager at ComPro (comproins.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – ComPro is your trusted and local resource for health insurance plans for Employee Benefits, Individual & Family and Medicare. Our team truly enjoys working together to serve our clients well.

How did you get started in this business? – I started in the insurance industry right out of college. My introduction to ComPro was through their servicing of my employer’s group benefits plan. When I decided to leave that job, I remembered how ComPro emulated core values that resonated with me. This made it easy to say “yes” when the opportunity presented itself to join the ComPro team.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Working full-time as a mother when my kids were in their busy teenage years made it hard to maximize each day. But, I knew this was just a natural part of balancing my family’s needs with my career. A word of encouragement to mothers reading this – it does get easier as your children grow up.

Tell us a little about your family. – My family includes Mike, my husband of 32 years, our three adult children, one grandson, two dogs and a cat. I have a large extended family who know how to enjoy life together. Wherever my family is, that is where I want to be!

What is your favorite thing to do on your day off? – Boating, fishing and water sports. I love the thrill that comes with skiing and tubing. Reading is also a favorite past time. In the fall, Saturdays are reserved for cheering on the Huskers at home football games!

Who inspires you? – Both of my grandmothers were strong and intelligent women. I appreciated their strong, Christian faith. They represented to me what it means to have the freedom to be yourself and follow your own path. And both had a marvelous sense of humor and giving hearts!

What is your favorite quote? – “Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind.” – Henry James.

What descriptive word would you like to be remembered by? – Loving. I want the people in my life – friends, family and acquaintances – to know they are loved.

If you could have a super-power, what would it be? – I think it would be fun to have super-strength. To be indestructible and able to do crazy things, like pick up a car. Why would I need to do that? I have no idea, but it sounds fun!

What talent would you most like to have? – To have a great singing voice. As a child, I sang all The Carpenters’ songs and still today wish I could carry a tune like Karen Carpenter.

What local nonprofit are you passionate about and why? – The BackPack Program, sponsored by Food Bank of Lincoln. This program helps students in need (along with their families) by providing a food-filled backpack for the weekend and during school breaks. Today, this program serves over 2,000 students and their families.

What is one of your favorite books? A Gentleman in Moscow by Armor Towles is my current favorite. I really enjoyed the main character and the author’s descriptions of the charming people in the book.
