Tell us a little about your business. – I’m the Lifestyle Director for Salt Creek Senior Living (DialSeniorLiving.com). It’s a beautiful new senior community supporting independent living, assisted living and memory care. With a gorgeous, wrap-around view of the natural beauty of Salt Creek, these apartments are perfect for people who enjoy modern décor and fantastic food, as well as family games and puzzles. Especially Wordle! We are really good at playing Wordle as a group and enjoy the game nearly every day! Salt Creek is a part of the Dial Senior Living Family.
How did you get started in the business? – My very first job in high school was working as an aide in a senior living community. I enjoyed roles in marketing and advertising after college, but I always volunteered in senior living. Eventually, I started working in senior living full time, because it truly is what I love to do most!
Tell us about your family. – My husband, Mark, works for Continental. We have two daughters, Laurel and Rachel. Laurel works in human resources on the east coast and Rachel works in project management here in Lincoln. As of May, all of us are now graduates of the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. So we are a family of Huskers, which I LOVE! GO BIG RED!
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – We are a pickleball family. Mark is really good. My play is more “whimsical-but-trying-really-hard” style. We might play pickleball together as a family or enjoy a dinner out with friends. In a perfect world, we’d play pickleball, enjoy dinner together and then play cards. We love Pitch, Swoop and Five Crowns.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that people don’t know? – I really enjoy binge-watching television shows with takeout food with friends and family. That’s not really interesting by itself, but I find myself loving to learn facts about entertainment shows and then sharing them with my good friends. I think many people find it unique that I know a lot of unusual or obscure facts and trivia about all sorts of shows.
What is your favorite TV show? – So many! I love “The Diplomat” and “The Last of Us.” But I am also crazy for anything “Charlie’s Angels” from any era or a spicy murder mystery.
What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant? – My local favorites are Pho and the Paris Banh Mi Cafe! But if a restaurant does take-out, I’m a big fan already.
