Meet Dan Novak, optometrist and owner of Premier Vision.

Tell us a little about your business. – Premier Vision (premiervisionlincoln.com) is a new optometry office conveniently located at 84th and Firethorn Lane, just south of Van Dorn. We will offer the most advanced diagnostic equipment and optical products that will help my patients achieve their best vision possible. I will also offer a service/product called Myopia Management that demonstrates the ability to slow the progression of near-sightedness or blurry vision in children. We are proud to offer a unique selection of frames to our patients. We carry both boutique and global brands in a wide range of styles and prices. We also offer an extensive range of lenses. My goal is to make all patients feel welcome and comfortable while providing a best-in-class patient experience.

How did you get started in the business? – I’ve always wanted to be in health care. As I’ve had glasses and contacts since childhood, I understand the frustration and importance of vision and how it can affect a person’s life. I want to provide my patients with the care they need to alleviate the worry about their eyes.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – While the opportunity to open my own office is the most exciting point in my career, it is also the most nerve-racking and stressful decision and process I’ve had to make during my career.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – The opening of my own office is the most important professional achievement. I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve my patients the way in which I feel is best. I also look forward to building a business that will gain a reputation as the best eye care facility in Lincoln.

Tell us a little about your family. – My wife Sarah helps raise our active children, Olivia (8), Grant (6), and Drew (3).

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – We are members of Firethorn Golf Club so when I do have a day off, I try to golf or be at the pool.

Who inspires you? – Honestly, my family inspires me. I want to work hard and build a great practice so they can have an enjoyable life and we can share our gifts with others.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Super vision obviously! Kidding—I’d probably go with the ability to fly.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Professional golfer.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – I am a member of my local Knights of Columbus.
