Farm Bureau Financial Services is an insurance and investment company that builds relationships with people from all walks of life to help them protect what matters most and prepare for the future. Located at 24th and Pine Lake Road in Lincoln, David Duff is an agent with Farm Bureau Financial Services and has the ability to help you with all of your insurance and financial needs.
How did you get started in the business? – My finance teacher at Nebraska Wesleyan University helped guide me in this direction. I have always had a desire to help others and I really enjoy helping people strategize to find solutions.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Age is always a problem when you are a young professional. I also think that was the biggest motivator because it inspired me to work harder to earn people’s trust and prove worth.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Carrying a good reputation. It is definitely something you can’t buy, only earn, and you only get one real shot at it. Sometimes people lose that philosophy, but coming from a small town where everyone knows your name I hold that value high.
Tell us a little about your family. – I just got married last July to my beautiful wife Heather. We have an ankle biter named Trixie.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – The first time I saw my student loan total! But seriously, it was when I was younger and I moved in with my grandparents to better my family situation. During this time I really took a good look at my life and realized that everything I wanted was attainable with hard work and dedication.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spending time with friends and family doing some kind of activity. There is nothing better than just having a good time.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I am deathly afraid of spiders.
What are you the most proud of? – I have a job that I really excel at and enjoy; every day I get up and I am excited to go to work.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – A lady by the name of Celine Filsinger once told me that I could be anything I wanted to be and the only person that would ever hold me back was myself.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Fun
If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Work Hard Play Hard” by Wiz Khalifa
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – To fly!
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – My swift dancing skills.
What talent would you most like to have? – I would love to be able to draw and paint.
