Star City Six: Malinda Longacre

AR (Accounts Receivable) Solutions is a licensed, bonded and insured Nebraska collection agency. Malinda Longacre is the Marketing Manager for AR Solutions (arsolutionsinc.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – AR Solutions is a locally owned and operated collection agency that collects past due receivables for our clients while still maintaining their reputation.   We are collecting on average 2.5 times the national average for our clients, who have 24/7 access to view their accounts, report payments, update demographics or send communication to AR Solutions through our secure website. Our competitive fees are contingent upon collection so you do not pay unless we collect. On top of our remarkable ability to get you the highest recovery possible, we do it with dignity to preserve relationships. All of our Asset Recovery Specialists are American Collection Association (ACA) certified, so you can trust that your client accounts will be handled with the highest quality and dignity.

How did you get started in the business? – I started working for a legal litigation office in 2009 located in Denver, CO. After moving to Nebraska I later joined the wonderful team at AR Solutions.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – One of the biggest challenges with collections is that I have all of a nanosecond to make a good first impression.  I am constantly battling the negative connotation that comes with the word ‘collections.’

Tell us a little about your family. – I come from a family with a strong background of work ethic and high standards. I was raised with the ideal parents, two sisters, and one brother in a small rural community. I have been married to my wonderful husband for over nine years. We have two beautiful boys, Cutler (6) and Cuenton (2). My family is very supportive of my career.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Shopping of course!  I also enjoy DIY projects and crafts. Pinterest is my addiction.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I do not believe there is one. I am an open book! I have never met a stranger in my life.

What are you the most proud of? – My family of course!  Children have a unique way of looking at life as limitations aren’t yet a part of their psyche; in their world, everything is still possible.   Just when I am in doubt of being able to close on bringing another client on board I hear my children telling me “You can do it!”

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – You will regret opportunities not taken more than having taken a risk that didn’t prove successful.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “That’s My Kind of Woman” by George Strait.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Healing.

What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – People’s City Mission in the heart of Lincoln. It’s a great feeling to put a smile on worried and troubled faces. My family enjoys serving in their soup kitchen.

What is your favorite movie? – Pure Country.

What is your favorite TV show? – Longmire.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Hiro 88.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – George Strait.
