Tell us a little about your business.

Who knew that real estate is NOT about selling houses? It’s truly not! It’s about working with people, and that’s my business. It’s my job to learn about my clients and do a fantastic job serving and helping them. Getting to see a lot of different houses every week is just the icing on the cake.

How did you get started in the business?

A friend of mine once told me over a cold beverage that I would make a great real estate agent. I was 21 at the time. A few years later, the thought popped into my head again when my first job, as great as it was, wasn’t quite what I could see myself doing the rest of my life. I began looking into getting my pilot’s license or real estate license, and ultimately chose the route which would allow me to work with people more.

What has been your most important achievement professionally?

The tough transactions that finally get to the closing table—whether it’s inspection requests, financing issues, contractor delays, etc.—when we finally tackle them, nothing is more rewarding than seeing my clients’ joy on closing day. Watching someone walk through the door of their very first home; or the relief siblings have when they finally sell their parents’ estate after many years in the family; or when someone achieves their dream of paying cash for a piece of God’s earth, something they’ve saved their whole life for…it’s these small victories that mean the most. As one of the top agents in Lincoln, I’ve received awards for my dollars sold/sales volume, but that’s not how I measure my success.

Tell us a little about your family.

I married a saint of a husband, and we have two young humans roaming our house who we usually don’t mind claiming. Both of our boys are active in sports and music, and do very well in academics.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

A day off? That’s cute! In real estate, there are no days off. Houses come onto the market 24/7, and it’s my job to be available. As long as I have time to get my runs and workouts in each day, that’s all the time off I need.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

I grew up hunting with my dad and brother, and really miss pheasant, deer, and turkey season. I can also play a killer ping-pong game!

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?

Determined.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

To fly! My second choice would be the ability to eat all the cinnamon rolls in the world and never get sick or gain weight.

What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?

I am very passionate about my faith and I love my church; I love being a part of something that is growing and continually reaching out to rest of the world. Our new pastor is awesome, and I am proud to have a voice with him and our whole congregation, letting others know that there’s a God who forgives and passionately loves every person on earth!

What is your favorite TV show?

Laugh all you want, but it’s Tom and Jerry…the classic cartoon from years ago!
