Tell us a little about your business.

At Sandhills Global, we strive to connect buyers and sellers across these industries with a wide array of publications, websites, and hosted cloud-based services. As our chief administration officer, I oversee our HR and administration functions across all of our offices here in the U.S. and internationally. I work closely with all areas of Sandhills to help support growth and success of the company.

How did you get started in the business?

I started at Sandhills after graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in a human resources role. They took a chance on me as a fresh graduate, and I’m starting my 14th year at Sandhills this year.

Tell us a little about your family.

I’ve been married to my husband Bill for eight years. He’s a TractorHouse sales representative for Sandhills. He also enjoys farming on the weekends. We have three children—two sons who are in first grade and preschool at North American Martyrs School, and a one-year-old daughter.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

My favorite thing to do on a day off is to spend it with my family and visit my family in South Dakota.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?

I learned to play piano by ear.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

If you can’t do great things, do small things in a great way.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?

Reliable.

If you could have a super power, what would it be?

To predict the future.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?

Sandhills encourages employees to be involved in a variety of local nonprofit organizations. They do a dollar-for-dollar matching donation program this time of year to many local organizations like Kicks for Kids, Catholic Social Services, and more. They match one dollar for each dollar any employee donates to the organizations, which is incredible. An organization that I personally volunteer with is Junior Achievement. I believe their mission to help educate students in financial literacy, money management, and work readiness is crucial for the future. Volunteering in the classroom is something I find personally rewarding as you can see the direct impact with the students. It’s something I look forward to every year.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?

With little ones at home, our favorite books are The Very Hungry Caterpillar or Goodnight Moon. I enjoy reading books that were made into movies or TV shows. The Time Travelers Wife was one of my favorites.

What is your favorite TV show?

I just finished the new season of The Crown—it was great!

What is your favorite local restaurant?

It’s hard to pick one with so many great options around town. Schilling Bridge in Fallbrook and The Oven would be at the top!
