Meet Nathan Richardson, co-owner and sales representative at Relentless Merchandising (relentlessmerch.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – We offer apparel printing, embroidery, promotional products, and trade show items. Our in-house graphic designers can help guide you through the process to help you achieve an awesome end product.

How did you get started in the business? – Touring in a rock band started our journey. Meeting people and making connections is my passion.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – COVID was extremely hard to make it through. Ninety percent of our work was rock bands, so bands not touring made it tough. We pivoted to offering online stores to help raise funds for local small businesses during the pandemic. We continue to offer online stores for small businesses.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Designing a shirt for the Hella Mega Tour that kicked off in July. The tour features Fall Out Boy, Green Day, and Weezer.

Tell us a little about your family. – I’m originally from Lexington, NE and went to UNK for music business. My brother and I started Relentless in our garage in 2012 and have grown it to a staff of 20+ people working with artists all over the country. My girlfriend and I have two cats named Aspen and Tiger. I play in a rock band called Salt Creek. We just signed with Tooth & Nail Records, a record label headquartered in Seattle, this year.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – When Tyson Schaffert of Iron Brush Tattoo asked me why I kept going to my day job instead of quitting so I could put all my effort into my own business. Tyson has been an influential person in our lives.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Play music with my friends and enjoy an ice cold tea.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I’ve never had a speeding ticket.

Who inspires you? – Michael Jordan.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – Money isn’t everything, it’s just handy as hell.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Writing product orders with my mind.

What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – Power lifting.

Which talent would you most like to have? – Reading my customers’ minds. Email is hard sometimes.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Sneaker trading.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – LUX Center for the Arts and The Bay are the main ones we partner with.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Traction: Get A Grip On Your Business by Gino Wickman.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Rutabagas or Yia Yia’s.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Steve Buscemi seems like a cool guy.
