Meet Ryan Lindbeck, the founder of Altitude Motion Media (altitudemotion.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – Altitude Motion Media is a media company that specializes in real estate listing photos and video, as well as commercial videos that help businesses and entrepreneurs tell their story with compelling content.

How did you get started in the business? – I ran a photography studio downtown in the Haymarket 15 years ago, but life changed and I started doing other things. Then one day, an old friend came to me asking if I could do real estate photos. That was when I realized I could make a business, and started looking at ways to offer the best content for our clients including drone, real estate video, and commercial video.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Not only learning to trust, but relying on others to be a part of my business, both in the creative process and in client relationships.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Building a brand people trust enough to recommend to others.

Tell us a little about your family. – Family is super important to me. My wife and I have four kids, and they really are the reason for all of this. I even have the privilege of working with my wife and one of our sons.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – When my department was eliminated at my old job, I was forced to either look for work or start my own business. That was one of the best things that happened to me, even though I didn’t know it at the time.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – What’s a day off?

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I have a masters degree in strategic fundraising and have had the privilege of working at Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach, and Madonna Rehabilitation Foundation.

Who inspires you? – Anyone who picks up the pieces of failure and builds something with it.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now”

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Relentless.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “Underdog” by The Blanks.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – The power to not have to sleep.

Which talent would you most like to have? – Woodworking — those guys are freakin’ amazing!

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I would choose to be a youth pastor. I actually went to school to be a pastor before I got my masters degree.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone.
