Tell us a little about your business. – I am a Realtor with Nebraska Realty that specializes in helping Veterans use their VA benefits as well as senior transitions.
How did you get started in the business? – My mom has been a Realtor on and off since the 80’s, so real estate was something I’ve grown up around. I was looking for a profession that would allow me to spend more time with my children and being a Realtor fulfilled that ability.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – In real estate, every transaction is different. I enjoy the intricacies of each one and finding the outcome to best benefit my clients.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I have obtained the Military Relocation Professional and the Senior Real Estate Specialist Designations, as well as our State’s Mark of Excellence. I’m also the incoming Chair for State Young Profesional’s Network.
Tell us a little about your family. – I have three Children: Edward – 13, Maria – 12 and Esme – 11. Edward and Maria both go to Lefler and Esme goes to Holmes elementary. Edward plays football for Allo in Lincoln Youth Football and both girls play softball through the YMCA.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Going to Iraq in 2004.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I like to bike ride with the kids.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I was an award-winning journalist. I worked maintenance of way on the railroad. I’m a journeyman Steamfitter with local 464 out of Omaha.
Who inspires you? – I’m inspired by many people. History is a passion of mine. We either learn from it, or repeat its mistakes.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – To wait. Everything will change. If you’re not having the best of times right now, just wait; that’ll change.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Legend. Ha!
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Invulnerability.
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – I’m a singer and songwriter.
What local nonprofit organization are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – HBAF – Homebuyer’s Assistance Foundation. I believe affordable housing options should be within reach for anyone who’s financially responsible.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – The Count of Monte Christo by Alexandre Dumas and Auguste Maquet.
What is your favorite movie? – The Goonies.
What is your favorite TV show? – Sons of Anarchy.
What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant? – The Oven.
