Meet Uriah Sawyer, Owner/Operator of Archer Exteriors.
Tell us a little about your business. – We are an up-and-coming exterior company in Lincoln and surrounding areas. We specialize in fiber cement siding and vinyl siding. We also specialize in fiber cement soffit and fascia, aluminum soffit and fascia, vinyl soffit and aluminum cladding of all sorts such as garage door wraps, window and door wraps. If you’re looking to have a deck or porch built, we can also tackle those!
How did you get started in the business? – I started off roofing and doing other construction projects with my dad since I was a teenager and have always stayed in the construction industry. I’ve worked for a few local construction companies over the years and have always dreamed of eventually working for myself.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Having the courage to take risks.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Every time I get a call from a potential customer who has been recommended by a past customer. Or even when a customer becomes a repeat customer and has multiple projects done.
Tell us a little about your family. – My wife and I are both born and raised right here in Lincoln. I am a father of four boys. My wife and I have been happily married for three years
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Becoming a father and a husband really opened my eyes to what life is really about and what little time we have on earth should be spent wisely.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – On days off, I enjoy watching Husker Football with my family and friends. I also love hunting and am looking forward to when my boys will able to come out with me on some hunts as well!
Who inspires you? – My family is my biggest motivator to always strive to be the best person I can be not only for them, but for myself as well.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Don’t make excuses, just get it done!” I love this quote because it is applicable to any aspect of life.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Honorable.
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Any profession that would allow me to be out hunting all year!
What is your favorite movie? – I’ve always loved the Marvel movies, but Avengers: Endgame would have to be my favorite of all of them.
What is your favorite TV show? – I really enjoy watching College and NFL Football. When those aren’t on, The Office or Family Feud are good shows for a laugh.
What is your favorite local Lincoln restaurant? – My family enjoys eating at Hiro 88, Runza and several of the local food trucks around town.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Having dinner with Shaq. I think he would be fun guy to have dinner and a beer with!
