How did you get started in the business?
I was working as a recruiter/headhunter for companies, hiring salespeople. I was asked by a local real estate brokerage if I would join the team as a realtor and also assist with business development. I said yes!
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?
Balancing career and family. I consider it to be a work in progress every day.
What has been your most important achievement professionally?
Becoming a senior partner with Real Estate Avenues: The Brokerage, LLC. The system we have created to support the success of our real estate agents has allowed me to work smarter, not harder. It’s freed up my time to spend more of it with my family, allowing me to achieve that important family-career balance, which to me really defines success.
Tell us a little about your family.
I am married to Jim Toof, who is a lender here in town. We have 5 active children who are a blessing to our lives.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
In the winter I like to go to movies. In the summer I love to sit by the pool or the lake.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I enjoy public speaking and sharing what has worked for me in sales and business so others can be challenged to grow and achieve their goals and dreams.
What are you the most proud of?
My husband and children.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. I truly, truly believe that.

If you could be a superhero, which one would you be?
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life?
Public speaking. I am working towards doing more of this.

I embrace my God-given talents and am content with them.

Author and professional speaker.
What local non-profit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why?
Friendship Home, because they provide a much-needed safe place for women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
