Meet Terry Lindstrom, broker and owner of EXIT Realty Professionals in Lincoln.

Tell us a little about your business. – We are a real estate brokerage company under a franchise umbrella of EXIT (exitrealty.com). Our partnership with them has a lot of advantages—there are multiple tools and resources for an agent to build their business and clientele.

How did you get started in the business? – I’ve been in the housing business all of my life. I’ve gone from building homes, selling offers, and selling the whole product for the last 36 years.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Becoming a mentor for younger agents entering the real estate business.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I’ve always been in top 10-15%. This year, I was top 100 of 70,000 agents in EXIT.

Tell us a little about your family. – We raised three boys, all of whom are now married to wonderful women. They have given us seven grandchildren.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I enjoy riding motorcycles and flying planes with my sons. Also, even though I don’t have them today, riding horses is my all-time favorite hobby.

Who inspires you? – The Pastor of the church in O’Neill, NE. He lead me to Christ. Even though my time with him was short, I still rely on words he said to me.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – We judge ourselves by our intentions and we judge others by their actions. It’s important we start to look at the possible intentions of others before we cast judgment.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Steady.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? – “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – To accurately read people to a point where I could know what their true goals and desires are.

Which talent would you most like to have? – To be really great at golf.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I have a skill set in sales. The other profession I’ve thought about is photography. I’d get a camper, drive around the country to take photos of old houses in the mountains and trees, and then find out the history behind the houses.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Habitat of Humanity. EXIT is proud to support and donate to their mission.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – I like all the books by C.J. Box. I’ve tried collecting all the good books by him.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – Lazlo’s Brewery & Grill.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – I’d get a big kick out of meeting Dolly Parton. I’ve seen her grow throughout most of her career.
