Meet Thomas Klein, senior advisor, commercial banking at FNBO (www.fnbo.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – For more than 160 years, FNBO has maintained its commitment to helping to build strong communities. We offer personal and business banking solutions, along with financial and retirement planning. Our digital banking resources make the process smooth and accessible for our clients, but we will always value making a personal connection. As a senior advisor on the commercial banking team with FNBO in Lincoln, I get to work with a number of businesses and help provide solutions that will accommodate their growth and success.

How did you get started in the business? – I started working as a teller while going to college and getting my degree in business with a major in finance.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Working with customers to obtain their PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) loan funding as the pandemic was occurring during 2020 was very challenging. It was also rewarding to be able to provide some level of relief during so much uncertainty.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – I’ve enjoyed working with a variety of businesses and seeing their success lets me share in their dreams, bringing satisfaction and enjoyment to my job.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I love to get out and enjoy all the variety of things that downtown Lincoln has to offer.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – Teleportation would allow me to be able to see different places.

Which talent would you most like to have? – The ability to be fluent in many different languages.

What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – A few of the nonprofits I am involved with include the Downtown Lincoln Association, the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, NeighborWorks Lincoln, and Rotary 14. I think it is very important to be involved in your community and work together with others, continuing to make Lincoln a better place to live and play.

What is your favorite TV show? – Nebraska Volleyball on Nebraska Public Media. Definitely a winning combination!

What is your favorite local restaurant? – I always love to go to Dish Restaurant and The Oven.
