Southeast Community College is celebrating National Entrepreneurship Week, Feb. 16 -23, with several events.

Vanessa Flowers, executive producer and anchor of KOLN-KGIN TV’s News at Noon and 5 p.m. newscasts, will emcee “Broadcast Your Business” from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18. Open to the public, “Broadcast Your Business” is a fast-paced information exchange for 10 pre-selected business owners designed to connect entrepreneurs to community resources. Business owners will have five minutes each to broadcast their business information, present a “call to action,” and answer one question from the audience. This unique, “more than an elevator pitch” opportunity will be valuable to anyone interested in knowing more about up-and-coming business ventures.

Tim Mittan, director of the SCC Entrepreneurship Center, explained the new event, which has been created in partnership with Strictly Business magazine and the SCC Business Incubator.  “This in excellent opportunity for business owners to get people excited about their businesses and for audience members to learn more about companies they may not know existed,” Mittan said. “We are targeting business owners who are ‘launch ready,’ have recently opened their doors, or those needing a specific action to push their growth to the next level of development.”

The SCC Entrepreneurship Center, located at 285 S. 68th St. Place in Lincoln, will host an Incubator Business Expo from 5-8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18. This event also is open to the public and will showcase current businesses operating in the SCC Business Incubator.

On Friday, Feb. 22, SCC’s Entrepreneurship Center and Continuing Education Training Solutions are sponsors for the Lincoln American Marketing Association’s 2013 Cause Camp. This full day program held at the Center for People in Need Conference and Training Center, 3901 N. 27th St., is designed to help set and maintain the best marketing direction for nonprofit organizations. Registration, breakfast and networking opportunities begin at 7:30 a.m.; the conference will run from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.
