The Immanuel Board of Directors has approved a letter of intent with the boards of Alegent Creighton Health and its parent company Catholic Health Initiatives to acquire The Lighthouse and Immanuel Fontenelle Home. The two long-term care facilities will allow Immanuel to expand its services to seniors and their families in Omaha. Pending definitive agreements and regulatory approval, Immanuel anticipates completing the acquisition of The Lighthouse in early October, 2013 followed by Immanuel Fontenelle Home in early December, 2013. Immanuel has agreed to bring eligible employees at both locations over in their same job, at their same rate of pay and with their same years of service. Immanuel has also entered into a collaborative agreement with Tabitha to provide the administrative role for its long term care communities. Tabitha offers a variety of elder care healthcare and support services throughout southeast Nebraska and is headquartered in Lincoln.
