It may sound obvious but being in the construction industry we are responsible for literally building the city. Each home, hospital, school, office and retail complex that Brester Construction builds or renovates will be a fixture of Lincoln, Nebraska for generations to come. Certainly not a responsibility we take lightly. One of the most rewarding parts of the job is driving past one of our past projects and getting to share the stories of how it was built with my kids, knowing that one day they will share those stories with their kids.
Brester Construction opened for business in 1982 when my dad and uncle decided that they could be a different style of contractor. They would put the owner’s needs and budget above theirs, take pride in their product and stand behind it. Shortly after starting the company they embarked on their first big project renovating the Russell Stover building in the Haymarket. They gained a reputation of having a high level of integrity, outstanding quality, and genuinely caring about the people. With their reputation it didn’t take long for them to turn their fledgling venture into one of Lincoln’s premier construction companies. Today Brester Construction gainfully employs and sustains 60 – 70 families that are raising their children in Lincoln, and that is something we are very proud of.
Our success has always hinged on culture. The most important element of the Brester culture is integrity. We desire to be known for doing what is right 100% of the time, not only with our clients, but with our employees, subcontractors, and the community. Integrity and trust are the grease that keeps the gears of Brester moving smoothly. We place a lot of value on passion. Attitudes are infectious so we are mindful to foster an environment where people feel valued, respected, and challenged, the key ingredients to passion.
We see ourselves as more than just a construction company; we are often responsible for building dreams. Some clients come to us with their entire vision, yet others only have a napkin sketch. We welcome the opportunity to leverage our experience and expertise to help them develop their project to keep them from becoming overwhelmed at undertaking such an enormous project and to help them to think through the details and decisions they need to make. No matter the size, scope or complexity, we love the opportunity to break down projects into simple steps and watch the weight lift off as the client begins to realize how
manageable it will be.
There is a lot of excitement about the future of Brester Construction. Solid relationships with past clients combined with our reputation of integrity have resulted in steady, consistent growth in the past few years. Sustainability, technology and more powerful designs are being used more frequently in our projects, enabling us to remain on the forefront of the industry.
Some people have already noticed but we recently underwent a complete rebranding with a fresh look that is more fitting to the Brester culture. The feedback from the new logo and branding scheme has been overwhelmingly positive. In addition to rebranding, last winter we relocated our office and shop to a brand new facility in order to allow for growth. We are now at 1200 Infinity Ct., and I’d love the opportunity to show you around and let you see for yourself what Brester Construction is all about.
