Tell us a little about your business.

At Neemann & Sons, we strive to provide our customers a family-friendly service using high quality products. We offer a wide range of services, including roofing, siding, seamless gutters, aluminum soffit and fascia, replacement windows, blown-in insulation, gutter cleaning, and other repairs. We are excited to announce the acquisition of Sprague Roofing and JL Exteriors. This will allow us to offer commercial roofing and expand our siding division.

How did you get started in the business?

In high school I used to work at Sutherland Lumber Company and did some construction on the side. In 1981, there was a big hail storm and a friend of mine suggested that I put an ad in the paper for roof repair. I got a few jobs from that, and then I got a few more…and a few more. Now, I’m doing over 1,200 roofs a year! That is how Neemann & Sons was born.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally?

Currently, it’s finding dependable employees.

Tell us a little about your family.

I’m married to my wife Chris, who has been with the business since day one. We have three boys together and they’ve given us 10 fantastic grandchildren. We are proud to have our three sons in the business with us. Travis is the project manager, Trevor is our director of sales and operations, and Trent is supervisor of the gutter division.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?

I spent 20 years working another job at the same time that I was running Neemann & Sons. Once I was able to devote all of my time to Neemann & Sons, there was a big turning point in my life.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

When I do get a day off, I like to hunt and fish. I also spend a lot of time coaching youth football.

Who inspires you?

My family. My wife keeps everyone moving and that is inspiring.

The youth football programs that I coach have always held a special place in my heart. There are many life lessons that can be applied from playing sports and it is a great way to keep kids active. I always start the practice by having the kids tell me something good they did for someone else.
