It is an exciting time for the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. After recently launching our economic vitality strategic planning process, our team has been hard at work expanding our workforce development programs, preparing to host one of the region’s largest business expos and launching Business LNK – a new platform to engage in important conversations with Lincoln business leaders. As talent retention remains a high priority for businesses across the country, our Lincoln Young Professionals Group (lincolnypg.com) has also been cultivating plans to unite hundreds of Lincoln young professionals at our annual YP Week, arming them with powerful connections to continue building their careers in Lincoln.
With the first event taking place on September 26, YP Week will feature a series of exceptional curated speakers, educational panels and unique networking opportunities to celebrate and elevate the emerging leaders of our community. Capturing the diversity of interests of our local young professionals, this year’s events will include a keynote kickoff event at The Bay Skatepark, a mental health panel, walking tours of the Telegraph District and the LUX Center, volunteer matching opportunities and a family night at the movies.
Additionally, seven impactful organizations and influential individuals will also be recognized at the annual Young Lincoln Leader Awards Gala. Now in its third year, the September 29 Gala will applaud the outstanding contributions of businesses and young professionals in the following categories: Young Professional of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Diversity and Inclusion Excellence, Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Next Generation Workplace, Young Nonprofit Professional of the Year and Emerging Leader of the Year. We hope you will join us at Robbers Cave as we celebrate the outstanding contributions of the award recipients. To learn more about the Young Lincoln Leader Awards, visit lincolnypg.com/about-YLLA.
YP Week is a unique opportunity for our community to unite in support of Lincoln’s emerging leaders and our dedication to fostering opportunities for young professionals to build their careers in Lincoln is a critical component to our talent retention efforts. We are so excited to connect with the YP Week 2022 attendees and I urge all Lincoln business leaders to encourage your young professional team members to participate in the scheduled events throughout the week.
Celebrating 15 successful years, the Lincoln Young Professionals Group is a powerful resource for the future leaders of our business community. With monthly educational, leadership and networking opportunities, this dynamic organization fosters a collaborative community for local young professionals, arming them with important resources and connections for continued growth in Lincoln.
