Celebrating and Advancing to a Big 2022

The end of 2021 was a time to celebrate for the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce as we held our annual Celebrate Business Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, December 7. It was truly a special event and a joy to see so many people that help make our community so strong and vibrant.

As we have seen over Lincoln’s history, there are numerous businesses that continue to excel and make our community a better place. This year has been no exception, with so many deserving nominees and ultimately our eight winners.

Cornerstone Award – Bryan Health
Small Business of the Year – Muchachos
Tourism Development Award – Lincoln Airport (LNK)
Manufacturer of the Year – Instinct® Pet Food
Green Business of the Year – Nelnet Renewable Energy Services
Entrepreneurial Spirit Award – CompanyCam
Roger T. Larson Community Builder Award – Dr. Marilyn Moore, EdD
Burnham Yates Citizenship Award – Tom Smith

And of course, a proper surprise award for our retiring president Wendy Birdsall, who was honored with the Champion of Lincoln Award. We truly cannot thank Wendy enough for all she has done for our organizations, for our city and for the business community in Lincoln.

Finally, thank you to our sponsors for making this event possible. Celebrate Business is one of our marquee events each year and we are always so excited to see so many of our Chamber members together to celebrate such incredible business accomplishments. You can find the winners’ videos and their stories at www.lcoc.com/celebratebizwins2021.

Looking ahead to 2022, we are excited to welcome our new Chamber president Jason Ball, who was officially announced as our president in early December. Jason has been leading the Round Rock, TX Chamber of Commerce since 2019 after previously serving as president of the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce and additionally as the director of business development for the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development. Help us welcome Jason back to Lincoln!

Coming up in February, we will host our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, February 22. Our featured speaker is Molly Fletcher, who is a true trailblazer in every sense of the word. Her presentation titled “Unleash Your Potential” will speak to her expertise in the areas of business wisdom, relationship brilliance and unwavering optimism. With a
successful and groundbreaking career as a sports agent, Molly is now a successful entrepreneur and will have an exciting message to share with our attendees at this year’s Annual Meeting.

In addition to Molly, we will toast to our successes as a community and organization in 2021. While another challenging year amidst the pandemic made for some tougher circumstances, the Lincoln Chamber was able to work with businesses, vested community partners and others to continue advancing growth throughout Lincoln. We will share the latest news from the Chamber, Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development, Lincoln Convention
and Visitors Bureau, Lincoln Young Professionals Group and Lincoln Specialty Care as we look forward at what is to come in 2022.

Tickets for Chamber members are $60 each with sponsorships still available. For more details on our 2022 Annual Meeting, head to lcoc.com/events.
