Located on 16th and O St., Martin Diamond Co. & Jewelry Design has set up shop inside of Shannon Formalwear – because what is better than suits and jewelry? It’s the perfect combo in one building. There is a section by the front window of Shannon Formalwear where Martin Jewelry has its counter full of rings, necklaces, and other jewelry.

Married couple, Dylan and Kaylan Evans, are excited to expand the jewelry store into downtown Lincoln. Originating in West Omaha, with a location also in Nebraska City, Martin Jewelry is pandemic-safe because they specialize in virtual custom design consultations.

“We’re different than your typical jewelry store that you’ll go into,” Kaylan said. “We special order almost everything. We’re mostly known because we are a virtual custom jeweler.”

The ability to meet virtually with clients anywhere is something that sets Martin Jewelry apart from other jewelers. You can sign up for a spot on their website to secure a conversation with Kaylan or Dylan to craft a custom-made piece.

“I think the fact that we can do this virtually makes a difference,” Kaylan said. “We can be super flexible and make almost whatever [a customer] wants from wherever they’re at, and that’s really cool.”

On their website (www.martinjewelry.net) there is a Design Your Own section where you’re able to choose the band style, diamond shape, type of metal, and price range to end up with your dream ring. If you’re not able to find the ring you want within these presets, you can either submit your own design or you can work with Martin Jewelry to create your vision. After the custom design consultation, Martin Jewelry makes a wax mold of what is ordered and then they will special order the design they worked with you to create. By building the ring with the customer, Martin Jewelry ensures client satisfaction.

“It’s a lot of attention to detail,” Dylan said.

Martin Jewelry caters to all jewelry needs, offering earth-made diamonds as well as lab-made diamonds. They also offer gemstones and semi-precious stones.

The website is very informative and functional for individuals who want to play around with different designs and also learn more about the “4Cs” of diamonds.

Martin Jewelry’s biggest sellers are engagement rings, but they also offer a wide range of jewelry for any special occasion.

“We’ve had a lot of interest in chains and necklaces recently,” Dylan said.

“We also sell watches, and we still do men’s bands too,” Kaylan added.

Martin Jewelry was founded in 1980 by Darell and Pat Martin. Every day, their diamond experts, bench jewelers, watchmakers, and technology experts strive advance the retail jewelry industry while outperforming the larger traditional jewelry shopping stores.
