The Lincoln Airport Authority (LNK)(lincolnairport.com) is experiencing one of the most transformative periods in its history, driven by expanded air service, major infrastructure investments and strategic development initiatives that are strengthening Lincoln’s position as a regional transportation and economic hub.

Over the past year, LNK has experienced unprecedented growth in commercial air service. United Airlines continues to demonstrate its long-term commitment to Lincoln by operating up to ten daily flights to its Denver and Chicago hubs, providing reliable connections to destinations around the world. Building on that strong foundation, American Airlines launched new service to Dallas/Fort Worth and Chicago O’Hare in June 2026 and will be adding season service to Phoenix this winter. Breeze Airways expanded its presence with nonstop flights to Orlando and Las Vegas, including convenient BreezeThru service to Orange County, California. Together, these new routes have increased the number of available airline seats at Lincoln Airport by more than 70 percent compared to just one year ago. LNK is now providing more travel options than ever for residents, businesses and visitors.

The airport’s growth extends far beyond commercial air service. In January, construction began on the reconstruction of Runway 18/36, one of the largest infrastructure investments in Lincoln Airport’s history. The multi-year project will modernize the airport’s 12,901-foot runway, one of the longest runways in the United States which serves commercial airlines, military operations, general aviation users and emergency response missions. The project represents a long-term investment in the region’s transportation network and economic future.

At the same time, the Airport Authority is focused on planning for future development opportunities across its campus. Work is underway on a comprehensive master plan for the airport’s industrial park, creating a roadmap for future business growth, private investment and job creation. The plan will position the airport to attract both aviation and industrial related businesses and support economic development throughout the region.

General aviation is a critical part of LNK’s operations, and the airport is investing accordingly. Planned hangar development and facility improvements will accommodate growing demand from private aircraft owners, corporate flight departments and aviation businesses while positioning the airport for future growth.

Supporting these initiatives is a strong and experienced leadership team. Earlier this year, the Lincoln Airport Authority welcomed Anthony Dudas as Executive Director and Michael Griffin as Director of Operations. Together, they bring more than 40 years of combined aviation and airport management experience to Lincoln. Their expertise spans airport operations, infrastructure development, strategic planning, regulatory compliance and organizational leadership.

“The momentum we are seeing today is the result of years of collaboration, planning, and investment,” said Anthony Dudas, Executive Director of the Lincoln Airport. “From new airline service and infrastructure improvements to future development opportunities, we are building an airport that serves the needs of our community and southeast Nebraska while positioning Lincoln for continued success for decades to come.”

With an annual economic impact exceeding $1 billion and support for more than 8,300 jobs throughout the region, Lincoln Airport continues to serve as a vital economic driver for Nebraska. As the airport grows, its commitment remains the same: connecting the community to new opportunities while supporting business development, economic growth and a world-class travel experience.
