AT&T Contributes $23K to Center for People in Need to Serve Low-Income Nebraskans

AT&T announced a contribution of $23,000 to the Center for People in Need (cfpin.org) on April 21 to help them serve the needs of low-income families and individuals in the Lincoln-area.

“We are in the middle of an unprecedented event that is challenging all of us,” said Dustin Blythe, external affairs director for AT&T. “It is more important now than ever to connect people with the things they need, and it is especially critical for those who are struggling to access food during this time.”

Governor Pete Ricketts also recognized the Center, along with People’s City Mission and AT&T, for their efforts to serve those in need during the crisis.

“As we’ve seen unemployment numbers climb during this crisis, we know people are struggling,” said Gov. Ricketts. “We appreciate all the work these agencies do every single day for those in need, but especially now during these very difficult circumstances. What they do is nothing short of heroic.”

According to Chris Funk, executive director of the Center, there has been a measurable increase in need at the Center. In five weeks, more than 400 new families have visited the Center’s drive-thru food and diaper distributions.

The Center for People in Need is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to helping low-income people achieve economic independence. Please make a donation today at cfpin.org and help keep Lincoln fed.
