Delta Nelson Opens The Mechanix Garage to Serve Lincoln with High-Quality, Honest Work
Delta Nelson opened a new full-service automotive business in town, The Mechanix Garage (mechanixgarage.com), with a goal of building trust among Lincoln clients by serving them with high-quality, honest work. Opened October 19, at 1323 Dawes Ave., The Mechanix Garage offers the full spectrum of automotive service and repair on all makes and models of vehicles, in addition to semi-tractor air-ride systems, and customization of off-road vehicles. Delta Nelson grew up in the automotive industry, beginning in her great grandparents’ salvage yard in Garden City, KS, then as an owner of an auto-glass company, followed by managing a specialty auto shop in Lincoln.
“With some life-event changes and the support of my family, I decided to just go for it,” Delta said, “and being a female in the industry, I want to be able to encourage women of all ages to do what they want to do, regardless of whether it is in an industry stereotypically run by men. We also want men and women alike to know that they don’t have to know everything about their vehicle, as long as they have trust in where they’re taking it. We want to be that place.”
Delta’s son, Garrett Rech, is the full-time mechanic at The Mechanix Garage, and he’s been turning wrenches and changing tires since he was old enough to pick up a wrench. He also grew up in the automotive industry and has raced and fixed everything from go karts to race cars—basically anything with an engine in it! It’s definitely a family business, with every member of the Mechanix team a family member who knows their way around anything mechanical.
The Mechanix Garage focuses on honesty and integrity. They’ll never tell you something needs fixing when it doesn’t and they’ll never tell you they fixed something that they didn’t.
