Firespring Joins UN Global Compact to Power Headquarters Sustainably

Firespring (firespring.com) has joined United Nations Global Compact—the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative—and is now powering its headquarters sustainably through renewable energy credits (RECs). The program, administered by local public power utility Lincoln Electric System, allows businesses to purchase clean energy without having to buy and install their own renewable energy generators, like solar panels or wind turbines. Instead, the purchase of RECs supports clean power production, reduces customers’ carbon footprint, and effectively powers homes and businesses entirely through renewable energy. Firespring’s main location at 1201 Infinity Ct. in Lincoln is now 100% powered by clean energy.

“At Firespring, we’ve always believed in finding a better way and lifting our community, and we can apply both of these obligations to this pivotal movement for our environment,” Founder and CEO Jay Wilkinson said.

Wilkinson has added his signature to over 1,200 others from 100 different countries to the UN’s Statement from Business Leaders for Renewed Global Cooperation, which underscores the need for international business owners to fight issues affecting the environment.

Firespring is one of the largest marketing communications firms in the Midwest, providing print, creative, website, and IT solutions for over 6,000 brands, businesses, and nonprofits all over the world.
