First National Bank Announces Community Development Grants

First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO) (www.fnbo.com) recently announced its final round of community development grant recipients for 2019, including the following grants awarded to organizations in the Lincoln area: $10,000 to Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties and $10,000 to Nebraska Children’s and Families Foundation. The grants support programs focused on educational workforce initiatives that will help strengthen individual core competencies and lead to improving economic self-sufficiency.

Community Action Partnership of Lancaster and Saunders Counties is a nonprofit community-based organization that has been serving the low-income populations in Lancaster and Saunders Counties in Southeastern Nebraska since 1965. The grant from First National Bank will support financial education and coaching and match savings opportunities for asset-specific purchases.

Nebraska Children and Families Foundation supports children,

young adults, and families at risk with the overall goal of giving the state’s most vulnerable kids what they need to thrive. The grant from First National Bank will support academic enrichment and workforce readiness for young people with foster care experience.

First National Bank of Omaha awarded a total of $1,862,000 in community development grants in 2019 to 103 organizations across its seven-state service area. With its final disbursement of grant funding for the year, First National Bank awarded $717,000 in community development grants to 33 organizations across Nebraska and Western Iowa.
