HBAL Careers Committee Promotes Value of Construction Careers to Next Generation

The Careers in Construction Committee of the Home Builders Association of Lincoln (HBAL, www.hbal.org) is promoting awareness and engagement among the next generation of professionals about the value of a career in construction. The committee is creating new content through podcasts, videos, and jobsite tours to help bridge the knowledge gap between professionals and skilled and technical sciences high-school students. At Construction Career Day—held annually at Southeast Community College—HBAL’s Careers in Construction Committee organizes construction demonstrations, provides participation with hands-on construction activities and opportunities to speak with construction professionals.

All Careers in Construction Committee members are professionals in the Lincoln area. Members include Ben Carey (Build DCB, Inc.), Jereme Montgomery (Stephens & Smith Construction Co.), Matt Kinning (KDB Investment Building), Rick Willet (Willet Construction, Inc.), Pam Magner (Reynolds Design & Remodeling), Herb Reese (Reese Construction), Kelli Fleek (Bath and Kitchen Idea Center), Denny Van Horn (Van Horn Custom Homes), and Taylor Ashburn (West Gate Bank).
