Home Builders Association of Lincoln to Participate in LPD’s Santa Cop Project

The Home Builders Association of Lincoln (HBAL, hbal.org) has announced changes for this year’s donations to the Lincoln Police Union’s Santa Cop Project, funded through the Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation. In order to remain mindful of COVID-19 guidelines, HBAL will be collecting new toys, games, and monetary donations at their own office this year instead of building them at Northeast High School. The HBAL office is located at 6100 S. 58th St., STE C and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donations will be accepted until November 13.

HBAL has been building wooden toys for the Lincoln Police Union’s Santa Cop Project for more than 30 years. While HBAL members will not be building toys this year, their generous donations will still be given to struggling Lincoln families to make their holidays brighter. The annual Santa Cop Project is one of the many ways HBAL members give back to the community. In October, HBAL held their 13th Annual Sporting Clay Shoot at Oak Creek Sporting Club near Brainard to raise money for the Lincoln Home Builders Care Foundation, which has distributed more than $240,000 through its community projects and scholarship program.

The Home Builders Association of Lincoln’s Home Builders Care Foundation contributes to community service projects focused on housing and provides scholarships for students pursuing careers related to the building industry. The Foundation also provides funding for other industry-related educational and research programs.
