Legacy Retirement Communities of Lincoln (legacyretirement.com) was presented with the Assisted Living Week Programming Award at the Nebraska Nursing Facility Association-Nebraska Assisted Living Association Spring Convention on April 24. Legacy Retirement Communities Activity Director Tracy Haefele accepted the award on behalf of the entire Life Enrichment team.
National Assisted Living Week brings the community together to celebrate residents and services provided within assisted living communities. Nominees were evaluated on their incorporation of the 2023 National Assisted Living Week theme of “Season of Reflection” into their activity plans to engage residents, families, staff and volunteers.
Legacy’s Assisted Living Week activities included a fashion show from decades past, retro car rides, Music Bingo Through the Ages, yard games, root beer floats and more. The communities also displayed “then and now” photos in the dining room, and when the Life Enrichment team learned one resident had no photos of herself when she was young, they reverse-aged one for her, bringing tears of appreciation from the resident.
We are incredibly proud of our Life Enrichment team for the energy they put in to plan these fun activities for Legacy residents during Assisted Living Week. Each and every day our Legacy communities offer a new opportunity for engagement and unique experiences for residents, and they wouldn’t come together so effortlessly without the time and effort of our incredible staff.
