In 2005, Lincoln Federal Savings Bank (lincolnfed.com) discovered how desperately in need students and their families are to receive help putting food on their dinner tables over the holiday school break. Now, just in 2022, they are providing six local schools with 150 holiday food baskets. The employees at Lincoln Federal Savings Bank came together to form the LincolnFED Kids program to raise money to provide the most food insecure Lincoln Public Schools families with holiday food baskets. These baskets are comprised of a variety of fresh fruit, meats, vegetables, bread, cereals, and the proper fixings for a holiday meal, including dessert! The Bank and its employees promote this program throughout the year with several fundraising opportunities.

To date, the LincolnFED Kids program has provided 2,000 holiday food baskets. With this year’s donations they will have provided 2,150. The committee is chaired by Deb Roberts, commercial loan processor and Alyssa Rhoades, marketing coordinator. Additional members include Brian Bock, commercial loan officer; Samantha Grella, administrative assistant; Dianne Hoppes, VP-administration; Pam Schon, senior accounting clerk; Holli Johnson, IT engineer; and Heather Merrill, deposit services operations specialist. Holiday food baskets will be delivered to each of the following schools later this month: Clinton Elementary, McPhee Elementary, West Lincoln Elementary, Everett Elementary, Elliot Elementary, and Hartley Elementary.
