To kick off the City of Lincoln’s Workforce Week last month, the Workforce Week Press Conference highlighted the successful workforce development efforts through the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development’s (selectlincoln.org) Lincoln Manufacturing Council program. Speakers included:
- Jason Ball, President & CEO, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce
- Leirion Gaylor Baird, Mayor of Lincoln
- Jim Townsend, Director of Production, Kawasaki, LMC Advisory Board
- Tom Beckius, Lincoln City Council
Since 2019, the LMC has provided workforce development, training and upskilling for those that are interested in manufacturing careers without prior manufacturing experience. To date, the program has graduated over 200 individuals.
The Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development (LPED) is a public-private collaboration between the city of Lincoln and over 100 private partners charged with fulfilling Lincoln’s Economic Development goals. Job growth and business expansion are critical components of a vibrant and thriving community and the Partnership is proud to serve as the city’s lead agency for job and talent development.
