Nebraska Safety Council Recognizes 13 at Safety and Wellness Legacy Awards

The Nebraska Safety Council (www.nesafetycouncil.org) commended 13 individuals for their inspiring dedication to safety and wellness at the 2019 Safety and Wellness Legacy Awards banquet on April 18. Matt Davison, Husker assistant athletic director for football, shared his insight on leadership and the ripple effect we have with our actions as the keynote speaker of the event.

This awards program encourages companies to recognize the hard work of their employees who are not only changing their own lives for the better, but making a significant positive impact on those around them. There are multiple awards to celebrate various levels of accomplishment.

Champion Award recipients include: Jade Hood, Union Bank and Trust; Isaac Naughtin, Hexagon Lincoln; Jake Havranek and Joe Hennecke, Lincoln Industries; and Clay Christian and Ben Johnsen, Quality Brands. Catalyst Award recipients include: Rhett Muller, redthread; and Heidi Kadavy, Hexagon Lincoln. Professional Leadership Award recipients include: Carmen Wiles and Susan Martens, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. Lifetime Wellness Ambassador Award recipient was Charlotte Burke, retired/Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department. Lifetime Safety Ambassador Award recipients included Louise Hansen, NEBCO; and Fred Zwonechek, retired/Nebraska Department of Transportation.
