Ponca Tribe of Nebraska Opens New Clinic, Offices, Adding 30 New Jobs in Lincoln

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska (poncatribe-ne.org) recently opened a new 25,000-square-foot pharmacy and clinic in the former Black Hills Natural Gas Building in Lincoln, which it purchased for more than $4 million in 2020. The new clinic and pharmacy will offer dental, medical, and mental health services to scattered members of the Ponca Tribe and Natives from other tribes, at the same time adding nearly 30 jobs to Lincoln and serving more than 2,500 patients annually.

The clinic’s care will be tailored to its patient base, designed to make Ponca citizens and members of other tribes comfortable inside its doors. This includes conventional counseling, prescriptions, and traditional Ponca approaches, like a sweat lodge or a talking circle. The tribe also plans to move many of its tribal offices and services to the new building from their original location on 17th and E Streets.

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is a federally recognized tribe headquartered in Niobrara, NE. They offer a broad range of health, social, educational, and cultural services through their five office sites in Omaha, Lincoln, Norfolk, Niobrara, and Council Bluffs, IA.
