The Nook and Parlor (thenookandparlor.com), a community gathering space operated by Escape Lincoln, held its grand opening Friday, Sept. 18, at 815 O Street, Suite 100. The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce hosted the 11:30 a.m. ribbon cutting, with Becca Fowler, Director of Membership and Investor Development. About 35 people attended the ceremony, and another 20 to 25 stopped in throughout the day to see the space. Guests received complimentary drinks at the ceremony and the day continued with an open house from noon to 4 p.m. and an evening celebration from 4 to 9 p.m.
The Nook and Parlor is designed to be flexible. Visitors can settle in for a quiet afternoon, order a mocktail, browse a small shop of book-centric merchandise and other nerdy must-haves or rent the space for their own gatherings.
“This space is meant for bringing people together. At its core, it’s simply about gathering. It’s about reconnecting, getting off our phones, and being in-person with the people we know and love,” said Anh McClure, co-creator of Escape Lincoln and The Nook and Parlor.
Fridays and Saturdays, 5 to 10 p.m. – open for gathering, mocktails and shopping
Mondays and Tuesdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – body doubling days, when adults can co-work alongside others and focus on deep work in a quiet, cozy setting
Rentals – available for private gatherings
