Tobacco Free Lancaster County (TFLC) (TobaccoFreeLancasterCounty.org) is gearing up for its next grant cycle, running from July 2025 to June 2027, and is inviting community members to help shape the future of tobacco prevention and education in the area. This is a critical phase as TFLC seeks to build on its successes and create more effective programs for the community.
Tobacco use and exposure continue to impact the health of Nebraskans, according to their “What’s Tobacco Costing Nebraska” infographic, it’s contributing to approximately 2,500 deaths each year and affecting 75,000 individuals through smoking-related illnesses. These statistics underscore the ongoing need for strong tobacco prevention efforts.
TFLC is reaching out to Lancaster County residents for their input on tobacco-related issues, concerns and ideas. This feedback will directly influence the development of future programs that aim to reduce tobacco use and its harmful effects on community health.
Community input is crucial to shaping the next phase of TFLC’s work. To provide feedback, residents are encouraged to visit bit.ly/TobaccoFreeLancasterCounty or scan the QR code.
