Friendship Home Announces October 9 as Date for 20th Annual Safe Quarters

On Sunday, October 9, Friendship Home (www.friendshiphome.org) will be hosting their 20th Annual Safe Quarters event. On this day, over a thousand Friendship Home volunteers will head out to Lincoln and surrounding neighborhoods to knock on every household door and collect financial contributions for victims of domestic violence, all while raising awareness of the life-saving services Friendship Home provides. Safe Quarters is Friendship Home’s largest annual fundraiser. After two years of having a virtual version of Safe Quarters, Friendship Home is ready to bring the event back in-person and into the community. In 2019, over $100,000 was raised, and as a result, Friendship Home was able to save and change the lives of over 1,500 victims of domestic violence.

Funds collected during Safe Quarters go towards Friendship Home’s mission to provide safe, confidential shelter, crisis services, and ongoing support for families who have experienced domestic violence and are rebuilding their lives. To access safe emergency shelter and services, call Friendship Home’s helpline at (402) 437-9302. To learn more about their services, go to www.friendshiphome.org.
