Hundreds participated in this year’s Hop, SCIP, Jump and Run, a fundraiser benefiting School Community Intervention & Prevention (SCIP) (scipnebraska.com), a program of Lincoln Medical Education Partnership. SCIP works with schools across Nebraska, providing trainings, resources and supports to address behavioral health issues impacting children, adolescents and their families.
This year’s event, brought to you by Family Health and Wellness Center, was held on June 5 at Antelope Park. Families visited booths and participated in activities to become eligible for a prize drawing. 55 prizes were given away, thanks to the generosity of local and regional businesses. A photo booth, sponsored by Nebraska Mental Health Centers, captured memories of the event. B107.3 was on site to emcee the event and Skymart Mobile food truck served up their delicious fare. Two heats of runners enjoyed a 1-mile fun run around the park.
SCIP thanks the wonderful sponsors who made this event free to families, the 25 organizations who provided booths and activities and the generous businesses who donated bottled water, snacks and prizes.
Planning has already begun for next year’s event! For more information about SCIP, visit scipnebraska.com.
