North Lincoln Family Medical Center Now Bluestem Health Kreshel Clinic

On April 1, North Lincoln Family Medical Center joined the Bluestem Health organization. Dr. Charles Kreshel opened the North Lincoln Family Medical Center in 1991. Over the years, this clinic has served the healthcare needs of the Belmont Community by offering comprehensive family medicine services and obstetric care. Bluestem Health recognizes the great work Dr. Kreshel and his staff have done here by honoring him through the clinic’s new name, Bluestem Health Kreshel Clinic (www.bluestemlincoln.com). To celebrate this, the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting on April 2.

As part of the Bluestem Health organization, patients at the Kreshel Clinic are now connected to additional services through Bluestem Health’s network, including integrated medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy. Patients are able to continue seeing the same providers and staff that they have come to know and trust. Patients can now participate in Bluestem Health’s Sliding Fee Discount Program, and have access to a Certified Diabetic Educator and Nutritionist and a Chronic Disease Nurse at no cost to them. The biggest change to the Kreshel Clinic include the transition from paper charts to an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, a program mandated by the federal government for all hospitals and physician clinics. The clinic has also undergone some cosmetic changes to the interior and exterior spaces, such as new paint and flooring, new chairs in the waiting area, and new signage and wall coverings.

Bluestem Health is a federally qualified health center that offers integrated health services. It provides additional community support including assistance in applying for resources such as Medicaid, SNAP, ADC, Child Care Support, and Open Enrollment through the Health Insurance Exchange. A partnership with Legal Aid of Nebraska connects patients with legal assistance. Bluestem Health also offers a staff of interpreters that speak seven different languages to serve Lincoln’s diverse population. Learn more online at www.bluestemlincoln.com.
