Lincoln’s Habitat Restore Moves to a New Location at 56th and Highway 2

Habitat for Humanity of Lincoln’s (lincolnhabitat.org) discount home improvement store, Habitat ReStore, will be moving to a new, larger location in the spring of 2022. The move will allow people to purchase discounted building materials, appliances, and new and gently used furniture while helping a good cause. The new store will occupy the space formerly held by K-Mart and 7-Day Furniture at 56th and Highway 2. An official opening date will be announced at the Community Builders Breakfast in March. Habitat ReStore is open to the public and all proceeds from the store go to Habitat’s mission of building affordable homes in Lancaster and Seward Counties.

Donations of merchandise are now being accepted. Needed items include: appliances, cabinets, furniture, building materials, and home décor. Donations can be dropped off at 4630 Y St. or a free pickup can be scheduled by calling (402) 464-0010 or visiting www.lincolnhabitatrestore.org.

Habitat ReStore will be staffed by a mix of paid employees and volunteers. Volunteers will help organize donation and stock the shelves. People interested in volunteering should go to lincolnhabitatrestore.org for more information.
