A Warmer Day Launches Fundraising Efforts for Storage/Retail Location, New Truck or Bus

A Warmer Day (awarmerday.org) has launched a fundraising campaign to pay for a storage/retail location and a replacement truck or bus to aid their mission of distributing free coats to those in need. Several fundraising events toward the goal are planned throughout 2021, including A Warmer Day’s annual golf tournament, in addition to some local bingo events as a fun way to raise money for the cause.

The all-volunteer nonprofit also encourages area residents and businesses to hold coat drives to collect warm outerwear for community members in need. A Warmer Day used zero tax dollars and zero payroll dollars to distribute thousands of pieces of winter apparel to more than 1,000 families during the 2020-21 winter season, but they depend on the kindness of businesses, individuals, neighborhoods, and volunteers to provide warmer winters to those who are less fortunate but need to keep their families safe and warm.

A Warmer Day is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer organization. Their mission is to provide coats and winter apparel to Nebraskans in need. Because they have no payroll, all proceeds raised go directly to the cause. Since they were founded in 2016, A Warmer Day has distributed more than 20,000 pieces of winter apparel. All of this is accomplished with no tax dollars and at no cost to those who receive the warm winter coats.
