For more than 40 years, the Nebraska Sports Council (NSC) (NebraskaSportsCouncil.com) has championed wellness and physical activity across the state. While the Cornhusker State Games (CSG) may be its most recognized event, the organization’s commitment to promoting health doesn’t end in July. NSC supports Nebraskans year-round through inclusive programs for all ages and fitness levels.

Following the 2025 CSG, which brought thousands of athletes together in celebration of sports, NSC continues to engage the community through initiatives like the WellPower Movement. This statewide program motivates participants to stay active and mindful each day, with seasonal challenges and team options for families, schools, and businesses.

Youth fitness takes center stage each fall with the Pumpkin Run in Lincoln, one of the nation’s largest youth fun runs, set for Sunday, September 28. The event introduces thousands of kids to the joy of movement and the power of community celebration.

The Lincoln and Omaha Corporate Games, running August through October, bring wellness into the workplace, with companies engaging in friendly competition to boost morale and teamwork. Newer events like NetFest Volleyball and Pickleball, set for October 18–19, expand opportunities for recreational athletes.

Also on the calendar is the Heartland Havoc Wrestling Tournament, November 8–9, featuring individual and dual tournaments for youth competitors.

These programs rely on sponsor support. To learn more or explore partnership opportunities, visit NebraskaSportsCouncil.com.
