Camp Sonshine Opens Summer Camp Registration

Camp Sonshine (CampSonshineMemories.org) summer camp registration officially opened on February 1. Camp Sonshine offers day camp programs for Kindergarten through sixth-grade campers, as well as a leadership training program for seventh through ninth-grade campers, at Camp Sonshine and overnight camp programs for third-grade campers through twelfth-grade campers at Camp Solaris. Registration will remain open until all spots are filled.

Camp Sonshine, a non-profit camp and conference center in Roca, NE, offers a unique environment for families to experience the love of God through innovative programs, fun activities, and genuine relationships. Camp Sonshine was established in 2007 and served over 100 children during its summer day camp. Camp Sonshine was gifted a second site called Camp Solaris, home to two dorm-style buildings for housing and one large multi-purpose building in Firth, NE, served over 2,300 campers during the summer of 2018.

Camp Solaris is home to two dorm-style buildings for housing and one large multi-purpose building. Both site programs also offer teen-aged volunteers in tenth–twelfth grade the opportunity to fulfill a variety of important roles within the camp program. They serve as assistant counselors whose job is to lead scheduled activities, help with camper groups, and work behind the scenes to help ensure campers are having the best experience.

Due to the tremendous growth each summer, Camp Sonshine has begun strategic sit planning with Fletemeyer & Lee Associate to continue the expansion and development of site and facilities to accommodate the continually growing camper enrollment.
