CEF of Nebraska Offers Good News Club® Quick Start Training

Since more than 80% of children do not go to church to hear of the “Good News” of Jesus, Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) of Nebraska (www.cefnebraska.org) is taking the Good News to them through the after-school Good News Club®. To spread the impact of this program, CEF of Nebraska offers a series of quick training sessions designed to help anyone who is interested in starting a Good News Club.

Good News Club is a dynamic Bible club held right where the children are—in churches, neighborhood homes, community centers apartment complexes, local public elementary schools—just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission. These action-packed clubs meet once a week right after school. Each club features snacks, prizes, songs, an exciting Bible lesson, a missions story, review games, or other activities. They are led by trained teenagers and adults.

Good News Club Quick Start Training sessions are tailored to the needs of new Good News Club teachers or those who want further training. Good News Club training is available through local CEF chapters or online.

In 2011, the Supreme Court ruled that the Good News Club® (GNC®) should be permitted to offer prayer and Bible reading to students. Since then, GNCs have been held in over 3,500 public elementary schools throughout the USA. Currently, eight GNCs are being held in Lincoln all in public elementary schools with over 250 children are attending! Volunteers and financial partners are always needed, not only for existing GNCs, but also for beginning new GNCs.
