September 7-13 marks Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Week, a time to celebrate the incredible individuals who provide essential support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. At Apace (goapace.com), DSPs are the heart of the mission, helping those they support live fulfilling, independent and meaningful lives in their communities.

Apace is guided by five core values: Person-First, Integrity, Adaptability, Conviction and Empowerment. Each year, Apace recognizes staff who go above and beyond in living out these values. This year’s Core Value Award Winners are:

  • Adaptability: Brooke Chandler (David City), Ronda Booth (Nebraska City)
  • Conviction: Nancy Frerichs (Nebraska City), Gedeon Kembe (Lincoln)
  • Empowerment: Elise Lewin (Auburn), Renee Armstrong (Beatrice)
  • Integrity: Ashley Rowden (Beatrice), Jasmin Palmer (Lincoln)
  • Person-First: Alexandra Jordan (Lincoln), Krista Backer (Lincoln)

Apace is proud to honor these outstanding professionals and the countless DSPs who embody compassion, dedication and respect. Their work truly makes a difference, and during this week, and every week, they say thank you.
