City Impact Serves 555 Families Through Gifts of Love Event and Christmas Store

City Impact (cityimpact.org) has excitedly shared that 555 families were served through Gifts of Love in 2019. Their 88 collection site partners hosted 118 collection boxes all around Lincoln. The City Impact team was blown away by the community support!

More than 1,000 local volunteers served in November and December to prepare for and run the Gifts of Love store from December 8-13, and over 3,100 people were shopped for in the store. Parents were empowered to buy great gifts of their kids at affordable prices for low-income families.

Every bike purchased came with a free helmet, thanks to Black Hills Energy! Gifts like art kits, Nerf toys, and Bluetooth headphones were under the Christmas trees of thousands of Lincoln kids. City Impact is deeply grateful to their major sponsors Nelnet, UBS Financial Services, and Huffman Engineering. They recognize that without sponsors and volunteers, they could not do what they do.
