DreamCatchers Ride Credits Local Community for Nonprofit Success throughout Pandemic

The COVID pandemic threw lots of curves at Lancaster County nonprofits in 2020, and DreamCatchers Ride, Inc. (dreamcatchersride.org) credits our tremendously supportive community for stepping up to the plate and helping organizations meet their program needs. Of course, the ride isn’t over, and DreamCatchers continues to depend on community support to share the love of horses with those who would not otherwise have the chance. In fact, the need for the emotional support that horses provide is greater than ever, as DreamCatchers leaps into 2021 with hopes for another powerful year.

Jodi Freeman founded DreamCatchers Ride in 2018 based on the knowledge that there are many people in Lincoln who have a passion for horses but whose families simply cannot afford the time or financial commitment a horse requires. As a nonprofit, DreamCatchers is able to seek sponsors and accept donations for the care of the horses involved. The nonprofit recently expanded their services to include bringing horses to those in need of companionship or emotional support—including people in retirement communities, rehabilitation facilities, after-school and/or mentoring programs, mental-health companies, and civic organizations, to name a few.

DreamCatchers, Ride, Inc. provides a safe place where, through learning about equine companionship and care, people can be comfortable and able to express themselves.
