Family Service Concludes 125th Anniversary

It’s been an exciting 125th year for Family Service of Lincoln (www.familyservicelincoln.org) and the agency culminated the anniversary with three final events: Book Drive/Fundraiser at Barnes & Noble in SouthPointe Pavilions to benefit families in need; Mayor’s Proclamation with Lincoln City Council naming November 14, 2016 as “Family Service Lincoln 125th Anniversary Celebration Day”; and Governor’s Proclamation declaring November 9, 2016 as “Family Service Day.”

The partnership with Barnes & Noble and SouthPointe Pavilions is a result of Family Service’s goal to distribute at least 125 board games in conjunction with National Family Week during the week of Thanksgiving. A portion of all purchases on Nov. 5th was donated to the cause in addition to games purchased off of the “125 Wish List” guide. Games were distributed through Family Service’s four programs; Behavioral Health, Youth Development, Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and Child Care Food Program (CCFP).
